Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains what information may be collected when you use DebtSettlers.co.uk, how it is used and your rights. We operate on the principle of collecting as little personal data as possible.

Who we are and how to contact us

DebtSettlers.co.uk is run by a small independent publishing team. If you have any questions about this policy or about your personal data, please email us at help.debtsettlers@outlook.com.

Information we collect

We do not ask you to create an account or submit personal financial information. The only information we may process is:

  • Technical data – your IP address, browser type and pages visited may be processed by our web‑hosting provider to ensure the website functions correctly and to detect security issues.
  • Correspondence – if you email us, we will process the information you provide in order to respond to your query.

We do not use analytics or advertising cookies and we do not store the amounts you enter into our calculators; these run entirely in your browser.

Why we collect information

We process the limited information described above to operate and secure our website (our legitimate interest) and to respond to enquiries you send us (legitimate interest). We do not use personal data for marketing or profiling.

How we use and share information

Technical data is used to maintain website security and performance. We use your email address only to respond to your enquiry and then delete it. We do not sell or share personal data with third parties, except where required by law or to run our website (for example, with our hosting provider). Our calculators run entirely in your browser, so we do not see or store any figures you enter.

How long we keep information

We keep any enquiry emails for up to six months and then delete them. Server logs are automatically deleted after a short period (for example, 30 days) to maintain security. We do not retain other personal data.

Your rights

You have rights over your personal data under the UK GDPR, including the rights to access, rectify or erase your data, restrict or object to our processing, and withdraw consent if we rely on consent (we currently do not). To exercise any of these rights, please email help.debtsettlers@outlook.com.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Cookies

We use only essential first‑party cookies. Our Cookie Policy explains how these work and how you can manage them.

Updates to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the new policy on this page and update the “last updated” date.
